How it started
An idea born out of the MCAT grind.
Edward J. Alvarez started Studium as an aspiring doctor who struggled to find affordable, high-quality ways to prepare for the MCAT and begin studying medicine.
The more he searched, the more he realized how expensive and fragmented medical education resources could be—scattered across pricey courses, outdated question banks, and tools that never quite talked to each other.
So he decided to build something better—an accessible place where aspiring doctors can study, practice, and prepare for the journey ahead. What started as a personal fix became Studium, a platform built for the students living through exactly what he went through.
